In September we made some improvements to the new contacts feature released last month, based on your feedback. These improvements include; Issuers can now create new contacts while creating a holder, contacts can now be archived and deleted, and the ABN lookup feature has been made more usable. Alongside that we’ve made many other small improvements and ironed out various issues arising with the major release.

Contacts

  • When creating a holder during a transaction, issuers can now create new contacts as well as choose existing contacts.
  • Contacts can now be archived via the contact list Actions menu. Archived contacts appear in a tab in the Contact book. Once archived, contacts can either be unarchived or deleted for good.
  • Improved the ACN/ABN lookup feature to account for companies with an ACN number but no ABN number, and allow issuers to amend company names returned by the lookup.
  • In the contact details tax declaration, the default for ‘Is this person a resident of Australia for tax purposes’ has been set to ‘Yes’, no longer hiding the TFN field until Yes is selected.
  • Fixed a bug where updating a corporate trustee contact’s address didn’t propagate to the holder’s contact address.
  • Excluded 000000000 as a valid TFN or valid exemption code. The TFN field must be left blank for contacts who have applied for a TFN but not received one.
  • Fixed a bug in the holder details page where for entities, the issue date of wholesale certificates was displayed as the expiry date. 

Offers and applications

  • In the application form, a passport country field has been added when collecting passport details from applicants, for easier identification of overseas passports.
  • In the application form it is no longer mandatory for the applicant to supply a TFN.
  • In the application form tax declaration, the default for ‘Is this person a resident of Australia for tax purposes’ has been set to ‘Yes’, no longer hiding the TFN field until Yes is selected.
  • In the application form, fixed a bug where if an existing user applied using a phone or tablet, the ‘Continue to application’ button did not display.
  • Fixed a bug in email that gets sent to applicants requesting missing documents so that the correct documents are requested based on the latest updates to the application form.
  • Fixed a bug in the Application form review step where Dates of Birth were incorrectly parsed as MM/DD/YYYY.
  • When editing contacts in the application details, the option to send communications with the update has been removed and no communications will be sent when updating the contact. Elsewhere, the default for this option has been set to ‘No’.
  • Fixed a bug in the Application details where if a user verified an accountant’s certificate in the ‘Identity and other documents’ section, the wholesale certificate status in the ‘Verification’ section was not updated accordingly.
  • Fixed a bug where beneficial owners of trusts were displayed in the Application details Submitted details tab, but were not displayed in the Application details Holder tab or application transcript.
  • Fixed a server error caused when filtering the pending applications table.
  • Fixed a bug in the application details where risk ratings were not being retained after editing.
  • Fixed a bug where after an issuer edits an application, in the application transcript the Declaration text is missing.
  • Fixed a bug in the application transcript where the Application ID sometimes did not reference the original Application ID.
  • Fixed a couple of bugs in the offer setup with the ‘Family trusts will be required to provide evidence of family trust election on a tax return’ option. Unchecking the option now saves to the offer and if unchecked the question will not be asked on the application form.
  • Fixed a bug where adding due diligence questions to an offer in the offer setup after applications have been submitted caused an error when downloading the application transcript.

Read-only users

  • Client centre read-only users now have access to the Client centre All holdings table and export function.
  • Issuer and Client centre read-only users can now view the task queue.

AML/CTF verification tables

  • Fixed a bug in the Individuals AML/CTF table where the GreenID column was showing the wrong status due to incorrect logic.

ATO reports

  • Changed the file naming convention on the zip files that are produced when generating FATCA, CRS and AIIR reports to be more descriptive. 

Reports

  • Holders in the Top holders PDF report are now numbered beyond 99.
  • Fixed a bug in the Exit statement where holders who exited on the first day of period were not included in the report.

Investor access

  • An entry in the activity log is now created when an invitation to register is re-sent.
  • An entry in the activity log is now created when a new email address is added to the user access tab of the holder details page using the ‘Update email address’ button.
  • When an email address is added or removed in the user access tab of the holder details page, an activity log is now created for all the holder’s holdings, not just the current issuer holdings. 

Payments

  • On the payment instruction, changed the ‘Reference:’ label to ‘Payment ID:’ to avoid confusion with the ‘Ref:’ number given for EFT payments.
  • In the Payments list view, refined the filter on the securities column so that a payment doesn’t appear more than once if the search term occurs more than once in the security name.
  • Fixed a bug where the user was unable to save an alternative security class for DRP when the security class was from another issuer.

All holdings table

  • Added an ‘Email’ column to the Client centre All holdings table and CSV export.
  • The link on the ‘TFN quoted’ status has been redirected from a previous version of the holder tax declaration to the tax details tab on the holder details page.

Tax statements

  • Refined the weighting used for calculations of the ‘Interest exempt from withholding’ and ‘Non-resident withholding’ amounts.
  • Fixed a bug resulting in a WHT rate not being set on some concessional payment types, and being displayed in the wrong place in the tax statement.

Meetings

  • Fixed a bug where for postal batches of proxy forms the issuer logo on the proxy form was not rendering correctly in some circumstances.

Transaction types

  • Full case sensitivity has been implemented for transaction type management.

Tags

  • Fixed a bug where editing tags on the holder details page, while having multiple investors in different issuers open in multiple browser windows, could delete tags from holders in error.
  • Updated the copy in the Investor tags page to clarify that tags are specific and unique to each issuer.

Investor/Adviser centre

  • Fixed a bug where the filter in the Messages table was not working.
  • Fixed a bug where documents in the documents page could be displayed multiple times if a holder had more than one holding with the issuer.
  • Fixed incorrect logic behind the display of the ‘Sufficiently quoted tax declaration for this holding has not been submitted’ warning on the holder details page.
  • The label ‘Issuer’ has been changed to ‘Entity’ in the Holdings page, the documents table and the Applications table.

Share certificates

  • Fixed a bug where a new share certificate was issued to a holder who did not have any changes to their balance. This was caused by an automated task.
